Once upon a time, along the very cold, very windy Lake Michigan coastline, there stood a mama lighthouse and a baby lighthouse who guided many sailors through the darkest nights, through the thickest fog and through the wildest storms. 

After one particularly harsh storm, Mama Lighthouse said to Baby Lighthouse, “I want to tell you something, son, something I want you to always remember. If anything ever happens to me, my darling, I want you keep shining your light. No matter what, keep shining your light.” 

“Yes, Mama, of course I’ll remember, but nothing is EVER going to happen to you. You are so big and strong and bright. Nothing is ever going to dim your light. You are going to live to be a million years old.” 

Mama Lighthouse smiled and said, “Thank you, son… just as long as you remember.” 

Years came and went and all was fine and well, until one especially terrible storm that had been hurling the wind and tossing tall waves all day long and into the night. Some of these waves flew up to 30 feet tall . . . the ships looked like bathtub toys, and the thunder and lightning seemed to be having a contest for who could roar more loudly and flash more brightly. 

Well, one of those lightning bolts . . .
